Internationaler Bund (IB) Kassel, Germany
Funded by: Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Germany
Tanzania Youth Coalition (TYC) and Deutsch-Tansanische Partnerschaft e.V. (DTP), located in Hamburg (Germany), collaborate in a two-year framework. TYC and DTP work towards a sustainable, peaceful, and just world. They support and promote young people’s willingness to engage in voluntary commitments and aim to support and accompany young Tanzanian volunteers. They also stimulate reflection during the volunteer program by providing a comprehensive language and seminar program and being available as contact persons at any time.
The volunteer program is a one-year program that allows volunteers to learn and work in organizations in Germany within social fields. It provides an opportunity to gain intercultural experiences and share ideas from different educational backgrounds.
The role of TYC: TYC is the Tanzanian coordinating organization for the volunteer program. In collaboration with DTP, TYC identifies and recruits suitable personnel for the position of the volunteer’s mentor as well as for the Tanzanian volunteers. Additional responsibilities for TYC include handling basic logistical arrangements for volunteers in Tanzania, preparing and organizing the preparation seminar in DSM, communicating with volunteers, and preparing reports.
